We had a thunderstorm in the night and rain at times very heavy. Still pouring when we got up. We organized a few photos for the blog, then we watched the movie “Captain Ron”, definitely a favourite of mine and Becca’s. Today we are thankful that we did not go into Mahone Bay and have to travel in this wind and rain this morning to get to Lunenburg.
By lunchtime, however, the rain stopped and clouds were dissipating. As you can see in the photo, the dinghy sure filled up with the rain!
We dingied Becca in for a run and after showers, we did some sightseeing. We saw the Farley Mowat docked. Apparently Green Peace abandoned her. It was sold a couple of times for scrap but seems to always get halted.
Becca decided to check out the Ironworks distillery and then went to the Rumrunner Inn for a cool drink.
While she was sightseeing and getting caught up on emails, Mike and I walked down to the hardware store to get some more supplies for our wash down pump. Luckily Tim Horton’s is on the way. It is at least a 2 km walk.
Some interesting sights along the way. The windbag company store, where they make interesting items from old sails. And take a look at this. It is quite something.
We met Becca again and spent some time browsing shops, taking photos and just enjoying her. We took her for dinner to The Old Fish Factory Restaurant & Ice House Bar. The food was delicious.
After dinner we strolled along the waterfront. We got this shot on the hill of Persuasion through the mast of the Bluenose II. What a beautiful schooner. And yes, Becca, you creeped in on my photo. 🙂
We then headed back to the boat and enjoyed a beautiful sunset.
