We spent the last few days still enjoying beautiful Baddeck. We took a mooring ball close to the marina and enjoyed taking dingy rides, meeting other boaters and strolling around the village.
We had the clouds move in one day and a bit of rain on and off but the sailing school kids were still out having fun.
The highlight of the last few days was having friends from Ontario visit. They were on an East Coast vacation and planned to visit us wherever we would be at the time of their trip. Nice that it was in Baddeck. They arrived on the 28th and treated us to a great supper at Bell Buoy.
The next morning they picked us up and we toured the Alexander Graham Museum. What a brilliant man he was. We had been there many years ago and it was great to got through it again. If only he could see the technology today.
It was giving rain but we headed to the Cabot Trail and it turned out absolutely beautiful, with a temperature of 30 degrees. We even got to hike a couple of the trails. At one stop it was very windy but warm as you can see in some of the gallery photos. It was a treat to be riding in a vehicle for a change. We returned to Baddeck under cloudy skies and heard that it had rained here off and on all that day. We pooled our resources for supper on Persuasion and then motored out to Red Head to snap some shots of the Bell Estate Beinn Bhreagh.
After coffee and dessert, we bid them goodbye and dingied them ashore. Thanks so much for the visit (and gifts) Mike and Doreen.
Today, our last day here was a bit foggy this morning but turned out to be sunny and warm. We had a visit with a couple from the Shediac Bay Yacht Club who had taken a slip at the marina for a couple of days. Also saw one of the guys from Shediac that we had met at Ballantyne’s Cove when he was passing through for Race the Cape. Shine did very well in the race.
